Sing along as the choir sways;
Every verse of Amazin' Grace,
An' then we shake the Preacher's hand.
Go home, into your blue jeans;
Have some chicken an' some baked beans.
Pick a back yard football team,
Not do much of anything:
That's what I love about Sunday.
Let me add a quick note since I have already received a number of concerned and confused messages. I am not actually trying to say anything against country music in this article. I am simply using it as an analogy (and to a certain extent an example) for a bigger problem see where people equate certain cultural elements that they associate with Christianity to Christianity itself. Because of the parallel I am trying to draw, I have called this phenomenon "Country Music Christianity," but again, I am not necessarily saying anything one way or the other about country music. I actually like a good bit of country, and often times it appeals to be precisely because it is nostalgic.
