I have some really big ideas for the future of becauseitstrue.com. But right now, that is all they are, just ideas. I am not in a rush. After all, it has only been a month. But just for fun, let me share a few of them with you (and I have a lot more!).
1. Assemble a cross denominational, cross apologetic methodological team of writers and video speakers to create material for becauseitstrue.com. I would love to get people who specialize in particular areas of apologetics to contribute--science and faith, historical, philosophical, ethical etc.
2. Create a network of mentors for defenders and aspiring defenders of the faith. It is hard enough to find a mentor in your local community of believers, but when you are interested in apologetics/theology/philosophy it is doubly difficult. The trouble is that good mentors are not only hard to find, but they are also generally volunteering themselves in a million different places already. For that reason, I would (in an ideal situation) love to be able to support mentors via donations.
3. Develop resources that are specifically geared for age groups including children to young adults. The sort of questions that, 20 years ago, were not coming up until college, are now being asked in 4-5th grade. It is not my intention to make becauseitstrue.com into a "Apologetics for Kids/Teens" website. I want to serve all age groups. However, I would love to develop a section specifically for children and young adults. Just like I have done so far, it would probably have to start with simple, no budget, sort of resources, but I would love to eventually get to a place where we could produce books, curriculum, DVDs etc. And I would love to do it all via donations so that we could just give them away.
If any of these ideas jumps out at you, and want to shoot me a message letting me know how you could help out, you can do so by clicking the contact tab at the top of the page or emailing me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. In the meantime, I will be here doing what I so enjoyed doing this first month--taking questions, making videos, blogging the random thoughts that pop into my head. Thank you so much for reading/watching and I pray you all have a Merry Christmas!
